AAMI Achieves Efficient Collaboration across Four Global Business Regions

AAMI, a global leader in lead frame supply, faced challenges managing operations across four regions—Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, and Singapore—due to differing policies and manual processes. Yonyou provided localized HR and finance solutions ensuring compliance with regional labor laws and tax regulations. The system enabled fine-grained attendance management with flexible shift configurations and automated overtime calculations. Through YouZone, Yonyou's collaboration platform, AAMI streamlined cross-border operations including approvals, reimbursements, procurement, and training. This unified approach significantly improved operational efficiency and global collaboration for the manufacturing enterprise.

AAMI originated as the materials business division of ASM Pacific Technology Ltd. (ASMPT), with a history tracing back to the 1980s. ASMPT acquired a local lead frame electroplating company in Hong Kong and merged it with its existing stamping business to form ASM Assembly Materials Ltd (AAMI). Over the years, AAMI expanded its manufacturing footprint, establishing plants in Shatoujiao & Bao' an (Shenzhen), Singapore , Malaysia, and Chuzhou (Anhui), steadily growing in technology and scale. AAMI has become a global leader in lead frame supply, possessing expertise in the design and manufacturing of high-precision lead frames and stamping molds, as well as advanced surface treatment technology. The company offers comprehensive lead frame products and materials solutions to multinational semiconductor manufacturers, independent integrated circuit (IC) assembly plants, consumer electronics companies, and LED manufacturers. However, AAMI faces challenges in uniﬁed management due to policy differences across four global regions. The complexity of their attendance and payroll operations makes fine-grained management impossible with manual processes alone. Relying solely on email for global collaboration has also led to high management costs and low operational efficiency. To address these issues, AAMI needs a system that enables uniﬁed control and efficient collaboration across all four regions. Adherence to Local Regulations in All Four Regions AAMI operates across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, and Singapore, requiring a system that complies with labor laws, tax regulations, and social benefits in these regions. Specifically, Hong Kong requires support for MPF, ADW, BP, and IR56 calculations, Singapore for ORSO and local tax filings, Malaysia for EPF, and Shenzhen for social insurance, housing fund, and VAT calculations. Yonyou provides localized packages for these regions, aligning with policies in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Malaysia, and Singapore. This ensures that businesses can operate quickly and compliantly across different areas. Beyond localized finance and HR systems, Yonyou' s localization capabilities include multi-country, multi-language support, localized deployment, and implementation. During AAMI' s project, Yonyou' s regional delivery teams worked simultaneously to enable multi-organization and cross-region go-live, ensuring minimal disruption to AAMI' s operations. Fine-grained Attendance Management Manufacturing enterprises have stringent requirements for production line scheduling, involving 24-hour shift plans and regular shifts for non-production departments, as well as flexible meal arrangements that comply with local labor laws. The system must support flexible shift configurations and personnel allocation. Additionally, production lines require continuous coverage, and overtime and shift adjustments based on order demands further complicate attendance management. To meet production management requirements, departmental planners need to create shift schedules based on the production plan and manage shift and overtime requests centrally in the system, rather than allowing employees to submit them independently. This process generates a large number of overtime requests that need to be integrated with the access control system for managing entry and exit. Furthermore, AAMI implements a flexible meal policy for certain shifts, which requires automatic matching of rest periods based on clock-in records. Yonyou supports the setup of multiple shifts, allowing employees to be assigned to the corresponding teams as needed. The system manages attendance based on the employee' s team affiliation and the respective attendance patterns. For overtime, clerks can directly add overtime requests. The system also supports matching and calculating overtime based on clock-in records and requests. When the system detects overtime beyond the designated hours, it automatically generates an overtime request and initiates the approval process, achieving precise control over attendance management. Efficient Cross-border Business Collaboration Due to AAMI' s multi-regional operations and frequent business travel among managers and employees, the system needs to support mobile office capabilities, including process approvals, information communication, and key business data inquiries. Through Youzone, Yonyou' s office collaboration application, AAMI has established a uniﬁed business processing platform. Functions such as stamp management, vehicle requests, flight and hotel bookings, employee reimbursements, IT services, procurement, public payments, and asset management can all be handled and coordinated from a single entry point. Currently, AAMI utilizes YouZone to manage all office tasks, enabling mobile approvals by leaders, integrated reimbursement and HR approvals, salary viewing, and training arrangements for all employees. YouZone is extensively used during AAMI' s annual meetings across various regions, facilitating functions such as voting, automatic calculation of program rankings, and sign-ups. In the manufacturing sector, there are strict training requirements for employees, including regular recertification for fixed positions, periodic retraining for specific roles, and other specialized training. Yonyou's training management system has established a comprehensive training platform that enhances the training framework, enriches training content, and significantly boosts employee engagement in learning. Additionally, YouZone supports corporate instant messaging scenarios, allowing employees to quickly initiate communications based on business processes and matters. This enhances operational efficiency and ensures seamless connectivity for global business activities.
