SEM Enterprises Achieve One-stop Project Management

SEM Enterprises, a Hong Kong and Macau-based construction and E&M engineering contractor, faced challenges with manual, paper-based project management that created inefficiencies and a "black box" in headquarters oversight. SEM Enterprises was incorporated in 2006, and since 2015,SEM (Macau) has become an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of SEM Holdings Limited. In 2015, SEM (Macau) was oﬃcially registered with theLand and Urban Construction Bureau, as a registered contractor to carry out construction works in Macau. With this qualiﬁcation, SEM (Macau) was able to act as the main contractor for construction works, and in the same year, SEM Resource Limited was established in Hong Kong,focusing on the provision of electrical related E&M works. The scope of its E&M engineering business mainly includes the supply,installation and packaging of electrical systems for new and existing buildings in commercial and residential developments, hotel developments, casino developments and hotel renovation projects in Macau. Hong Kong SEM Resource encountered the biggest problem in the development process was that there was no system to support the business, resulting in a lot of work was based on manual processing, and employees relied on paper documents over time, resulting in problems in work efficiency and management timeliness. In particular, the business of SEM is mainly carried out in the form of projects, which makes the company's business management have great challenges in the case of offline business processing. Headquarters could not keep track of the progress of the project and could not adjust to the changes in the project in a timely manner, making business management very passive. Full Online-Project-Control SEM adopts a project-based management model, and without a project management system, it previously relied on offline Excel and online shared drives for management. Integration of Business and Finance In the scenario of multiple projects in parallel, SEM requires seamless connection and real-time synchronization of business and ﬁnancial information, so as to ensure eﬀective ﬁnancial control of each project at the headquarters level, and avoid project delivery delays and cost exceeding the budget.
